What is so great about the iPhone 4?
Question by kay kay: What is so great about the iPhone 4?
I have seen many videos and websites, but I want to ask real people who have the new iPhone 4, why it’s so great. I also want to ask what color should I get? And if I were to get a case, should I get a “Bumper” case? And I would appreciate if you recommend some cases to me. Thank you.

People have been dreaming about video calling for years. iPhone 4 makes that possible. With the tap of a button, you can wave hello to your kids, share a smile from across the ocean, or watch your friend laugh at your stories — iPhone 4 to iPhone 4 over Wi-Fi. No other phone makes staying in touch this much fun. iPhone 4 has two built-in cameras, one on the front above the display and one on the back next to the LED flash. The front camera has been tuned for FaceTime. It has just the right field of view and focal length to focus on your face at arm’s length. So it always presents you in the best possible light. Thanks to the Retina display, everything you see and do on iPhone 4 looks awesome. Text in books, web pages, and email is crisp at any size. Images in movies and photos are gorgeous at almost any angle. That’s because the Retina display’s pixel density is so high, your eye is unable to distinguish between individual pixels. Made from the same materials used in helicopters and high-speed trains, the Retina display glass is chemically strengthened to be harder, more scratch resistant, and a lot more durable than before. The glass also has an oil-resistant coating that helps keep the screen free of finger prints. Because your iPhone goes with you everywhere you go, you’re always ready to capture every moment. And with iPhone 4, you can do it in stunning high definition. Its advanced rear illumination sensor, delivers great-looking video in both bright and low-light settings. And in dark environments, you can brighten the scene with the built-in LED light. Say you’re recording a scene with subjects in both, the foreground and the background. How do you make sure the camera focuses where you want? Just tap that part of the image on the iPhone 4 display. The camera immediately focuses on it and adjusts exposure to match the lighting. When you want to focus on another part of the scene, just tap again.

A quick unboxing and hands on of the new iPhone Bumper case, designed to protect the stainless steel band which includes the antenna. I got the black colour for £25. I hope you enjoy the video!

The Iphone 4 is great because….
1, Its 2 glass panels make it more susceptible to smashing than any other phone on the market.
2, if your lucky you may get one with yellow blobs under the screen.
3, It may catch fire.
4, If you hold it incorrectly you wont get any reception.
5, You cant view flash on it, so no unauthorised games or video.
6, It is horrendously more expensive compared to any other phone on the market.
7, You will have to wait a month to get it once you have ordered it.
8, and last but not least this time next year and you will have to fork out for the iphone5.
It really depends on what you want in a smartphone. I have been using an iPod Touch for two years, so I knew already that I would like the iPhone 4. It does everything my iPod Touch does, plus photos, video, phone, 3G and sound recording, so I’m enjoying using it.
I like to stay occupied and informed, so the iPhone fits the bill for me. It lets me me keep up with news, my email, and my appointments. I listen to my music collection in the car, and use the Shazam app when I hear a song I like and want to know who it is so I can buy it later (I’m a music lover). I’m always taking photos and shooting video of my friends and family, so those features come in handy. I like making my own ringtones and find it easy to do with the iPhone. For me, the iPhone is more like a PDA and “activity center” with a phone attached!
As for problems with the phone, I haven’t had any yet- but who knows? Every phone I’ve owned has had some quirk. I bought a case and clear screen covers for the phone right off the bat, so the antenna problems people have been complaining about aren’t an issue (you don’t need a bumper- anything that prevents your hands from touching the antenna directly will do). We got a “Speck” brand case. It fit better around the phone’s screen protector than the other available case did (those cases fit tightly!)
Anyway, it’s all your decision. I used my iPod every single day for two years and it never got old, never broke, and has been through the ringer, so continuing my familiarity with this technology by getting the iPhone 4 was a no brainer for me. But that doesn’t mean it’ll fulfill your needs better than a Droid or another product. I think you should check out a few phones before you buy. Have fun, and if you can, find someone who owns an iPhone 4 so you can play with it.
